In a recent interview with La Verdad, former AC/DC drummer Chris Slade has shared his thoughts on a really tough comparison which is featuring some legendary rock guitarists.
Interviewer asked:
“Jimmy Page, Angus Young, David Gilmour, Gary Moore … Who is the most talented musician you have ever played?”
Chris responded:
“I couldn’t tell you just one. Everyone has their own special talent and I appreciate them all.”
Back in November 2018, Chris spoke in an interview with EonMusic, and revealed the details of his last phone call with late AC/DC guitarist Malcolm Young. Here’s the statement:
“I got a call from Malcolm saying, ‘We’re going to try Phil out,’. ‘Apparently he’s straightened himself up, and we’re going to try him out.’ And I went, ‘Well, I’m gone then, Malcolm … ’ And he said, ‘No, no, we want you to stay on; we don’t even know if he can play drums anymore, because it’s been a while.’
And I said, ‘And you’re going to try him out?’ And he said, ‘Yeah, well, we’ve talked to him.’ And I said, ‘Well, I’m gone, and if he can’t play drums, that’s your problem now, Malcolm.’”
