The Australian guitarist and AC/DC co-founder Malcolm Young has died aged 64.
The band has shared an official statement on their Facebook page and confirmed the news of Young’s death.
Rock’s guitar legend passed away surrounded by family, following a long battle with dementia.
His last live performance with AC/DC when their tour for 2008’s Black Ice concluded in June 2010 with a concert in Bilbao, Spain.
He formed the band in 1973 with Angus, who plays lead guitar and is the band’s vocalist.
Angus Young said:
“As his brother it is hard to express in words what he has meant to me during my life, the bond we had was unique and very special.
He leaves behind an enormous legacy that will live on forever. Malcolm, job well done.”
