The original lead guitarist and co-founder of KISS, Ace Frehley has looked back on his album collection while mentioning the rock legends he has been inspired by and unveiled a little-known fact about one of his ex-bandmate’s love life.

During his recent conversation on his YouTube channel, Ace Frehley, a.k.a. the spaceman, has talked about his former works and recalled the 70s, when he first stepped into the music industry with the inception of KISS.

While explaining the effects of such musicians and bands like Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Rush, and Cream, upon his life and musical taste, Frehley has touched upon the fact that the pop icon, Cher, once dated with his ex-bandmate Gene Simmons.

Ace Frehley has remembered the days when they were playing the Capital Center in Washington DC or in the suburbs, and Gene was dating Cher. He said that Cher was dressed in a jumpsuit and she had really short hair back then. Yet, every time he saw her, she’s got wigs on, so he thought Cher was the maid.

Here’s what Ace Frehley said during the conversation about his former bandmate’s dating life:

“Cher used to go out with Gene Simmons. Every time I think of Cher, I think about the first time I met her.

We were playing the Capital Center in Washington DC or in the suburbs, and Gene was dating Cher, and Gene called me up, said, ‘You want to come up and have some breakfast with us?’

And Cher was dressed in a jumpsuit and she had really short hair, but every time you see Cher, she’s got wigs on, so I walked out and thought Cher was the maid. [Laughs]

So I go, ‘Where’s Cher?’… ‘That’s her over there.’ [Laughs] They were an interesting couple for a while, until Dianna Ross took over.”
