The co-founder and former frontman of Behemoth, Adam Nergal Darski, recently posted a black and white photo of himself on his Instagram account and said that although he has been following the rules of social distancing, there are days that he wants to blow off some steam with his friends.

Adam Nergal Darski was the co-founder of the Polish extreme metal band Behemoth back in 1991. He remained in the band until Venom and other bands joined them to create the Temple of the Fullmoon. The reason why he left was that the band soon started actively supporting far-right politics and as Nergal was not interested in politics, to begin with, he didn’t feel like he belonged there.

After he left the band he was accused by his former bandmates of betrayal and treason and the growing tensions between Graveland’s Rob Darken and himself, went as far as to death threats. However, these bad experiences didn’t prevent Nergal from pursuing a career in metal music and he recently announced that he has been working on the reissue of Behemoth’s debut albumSventevith (Storming Near the Baltic).’

Being so busy and working under lockdown circumstances must be quite overwhelming for Nergal and in his recent Instagram post he revealed that he does indeed feel the need to unwind. As it turns out, the previous night, Nergal had a night out with his friends which made him really happy as he ‘needed that organic contact badly.’ However, he didn’t fail to mention that social distancing and maintaining hygiene in these hard times is crucial.

Here’s what Nergal said in the caption of his recent Instagram post:

“I know that social distancing is essential to maintain hygiene in these hard times. But every now and then I must get together with people I love, respect, and miss so much when we are all locked in our homes… Last night was awesome! I needed that organic contact badly…🤘🖤 More photos in the stories! Thanks to Szczurek UWC for hooking us up!
