Queen + Adam Lambert project’s iconic star posted a new video on his verified social media account and thanked Billboard for letting LGBTQ artists define themselves.

Lambert added that he was really honored of contributing to the new world.

Here is his LGBTQ statement:

“Thank you @billboard for helping myself and all of these wonderful LGBTQ artists tell our stories. Once I got used to the notoriety, I have used my platform to help lead by example and raise awareness for our community.

This is one of the most important things I’ve had the honor of contributing to the world!! smarturl.it/ALBillboardPride

“Adam just watched your live video. I watch your videos of concerts every night. When you felt the need to be political I felt like I was kicked in the gut. I love you I brag about you.

I have gay friends my daughters have gay friends. What you said in New York after they welcomed you so dearly was uncalled for. I am the age of your Mother. I will still watch you tonight.”
