Alex Van Halen had stepped out of the spotlight after the passing of his brother and bandmate, Eddie Van Halen. However, he was recently spotted by a fan who shared the post on Twitter.
Alex and Eddie had been playing together for years, but unfortunately, Eddie bid his brother and loved ones farewell in October 2020. The legendary guitarist had been dealing with various health problems, and he passed away after battling cancer for many years at the age of 65.
Eddie’s passing hurt the Van Halen family a lot, and they were so devastated that they decided not to continue making music under the name of Van Halen. So Eddie’s son Wolfgang started a new band named ‘Mammoth WVH.’
However, Alex was nowhere to be found during this period. Even his former bandmate Sammy Hagar tried to reach the drummer, but Alex ignored all the calls. As Sammy said, it seemed like Alex didn’t want to communicate at all.
After all this time, the community finally got an update about the drummer. Recently, one of the Van Halen fans came across Alex on the main road while he was driving his new 911 GT2 RS.
As you can see in the video below, Alex seems to be doing just fine and hasn’t lost his sense of humor at all. After realizing that they are recording him, Alex looked towards the camera, changed his hat’s position, and then hit the gas pedal.
