Shock rock’s godfather, Alice Cooper, recently shared Rolling Stone’s list of ‘Best Summer Songs of All Time’ on his official Twitter account and asked his fans about their own top songs to listen to in summer.
Rolling Stone made a list of ‘Best Summer Songs of All Time’ where they shared the top 5 songs to listen to. In the list, Alice Cooper’s song ‘School’s Out’ is number five. The fourth song is ‘Old Town Road’ by Lil Nas X which recently became viral on TikTok. ‘Summertime Blues’ by Eddie Cochran is number three.
‘Dancing in the Street’ by Martha & The Vandellas makes the second on the list as it makes you want to go out and dance. The number one of the list is ‘I Like It’ by Cardi B, Bad Bunny and J Balvin. Especially during the summer of 2018, the song could be heard everywhere in America.
Alice Cooper asked his fans where they would place his song on their list:
Where does “School’s Out” rank on your list?”
‘School’s Out’ is the title track of Alice Cooper’s fifth album released in 1972. Alice Cooper once mentioned that the last three minutes of the last day of school was a great moment for him and it would be great to catch that moment in a song. The song became an anthem for kids who hate school.
His fans were happy to answer his question.
Monika commented:
“School’s Out is my favorite! My dad played it on the last day of school for me every year until I graduated high school.”
Theresa Crubaugh said:
“As a former teacher I can inform you that most teachers love that song!”
Robert Holmes tweeted:
“Without prejudice, School’s Out is #1. When I was a school principal (21 years) it was my staple on the last day of school.”
