Alice Cooper’s successful touring guitarist, Nita Strauss, posted a photo on her Instagram account with which she expressed her sadness for not getting a birthday show this year and wanted a special gift from her fans and followers.
As you may know, Nita Strauss is a talented female guitarist who is highly praised in the rock scene, for both her skills and character. She has been touring with Alice Cooper since 2014 and she ranked number 1on Guitar World’s list of ‘10 Female Guitar Players You Should Know.’
Nita has a big fanbase who did not miss the chance to celebrate her birthday and make her feel special on December 7, which was her birthday. In her recent Instagram post, Nita shared her feelings about not getting a birthday party and asked for a gift.
In her recent Instagram post, Nita said that it is the first time in 10 years that she did not get a birthday show but that regardless, her fans and followers made her feel special on her birthday even during a pandemic.
Nita revealed that on her birthdays, she usually asks people to support their local animal shelters by donating food, toys, treats, towels, or blankets. However, it looks like this year she decided to take it to the next level.
For her birthday, she asked her fans and followers to do something ‘extra nice,’ which doesn’t have to cost money. Nita asked her followers to just make a nice gesture such as complimenting someone they love, holding the door for a stranger, or paying for someone’s coffee.
She said that we all need that kind of positivity and kindness because we have all been going through a tough year. Nita said that these kind gestures will be the perfect gift and party for her. Her kindness and empathy are some of the reasons why Nita Strauss is an exemplary rockstar.
Here’s what Nita said in the caption of her Instagram post:
“Thank you all for the sweet birthday wishes. It’s so crazy not to have a birthday show… I think this is the first time in at least 10 years haha! But you guys sure know how to make a girl feel special in a pandemic!
On this day, I usually urge everyone to please consider bringing some food, treats, toys, or towels/blankets to your local animal shelter. Even if it’s just an excuse to get rid of your old towels and buy new ones, shelters are often very cold and the animals don’t mind if the towels that keep them warm are frayed or old.”
She went on to say:
“This year, I’d like to make an addition to this plea: Just consciously do something a little extra nice today ❤️ It doesn’t have to cost money since things are tight for everyone right now. Text someone out of the blue with a compliment. Hold the door for a stranger. Pay for the person behind you in the drive-through. Fill this day with random acts of kindness. We could all use some! And that is the best birthday party I could ask for.
Thank you guys again for all your thoughtful wishes today! It truly means the world to me to hear from you all, and I hope we can get back out on the road and see you in person soon.”
