Alice In Chains’ official Instagram account shared the unplugged performance of the band in 2009, which they were playing ‘No Excuses’ at the Jimmy Kimmel Show, and made fans stunned with it.

However, the fans noticed something weird about this show. One of them commented that there is no energy in the stage just like they heard the death of Layne Staley, who is the original vocalist of the band, yesterday.

But the reason why they were looking so uncomfortable because No Excuses is a really touching song. It should be tough to sing for Jerry Cantrell, knowing that the writer of this song is passed away. Jerry probably got emotional while singing this song, and it’s an acceptable reason for not having energy in this song.

Here is what Alice In Chains captioned:

“No Excuses x Jimmy Kimmel Live, 2009.”

A fan named Matthew Adams said:

“Why does everyone look like they just heard about Layne’s passing? There’s absolutely zero energy on that stage.”

Another fan named Jeff Benintente wrote:

“Still gotta be tough for Jerry to perform that without Layne.”
