The heavy metal band Anthrax recently announced via their IG account that the band canceled their European tour because of financial costs and logistical problems.
Anthrax is considered one of the most prominent bands in the thrash metal scene. The band has eleven studio albums and a career that spans over four decades. The band gained international recognition with their punk-influenced speedy guitar riffs, humor-induced lyrics, and aggressive style. Throughout their career, Anthrax has received six Grammy nominations and many other prestigious awards. The band recently celebrated its 40th anniversary and released a new live album, ‘XL,’ on July 15, 2022.
Anthrax has been on the road continuously for the past few years, taking their place on stage in various festivals and shows worldwide. The band’s latest tour was with Black Label Society as the duo traveled across the United States and performed in different cities. They had recently finished touring the country and planned to continue hitting the road with their upcoming European tour.
The touring costs and the logistical disputes may create significant problems, even for a band as established as Anthrax. The heavy metal band announced via their official Instagram account that it was not possible for them to continue with their European tour due to financial concerns and logistical problems. They explained that the costs of the tickets would be compensated to the fans but that the upcoming shows were canceled, with the United Kingdom being the only exception.
The band announced:
”Sadly, due to ongoing logistical issues and 2022 costs that are out of control, we have no other option but to cancel the European leg of our tour upcoming 2022 tour. We will, however, be coming to the UK as scheduled. Tickets can be refunded at the point of purchase.”
