Anthrax and Motor Sister star Scott Ian shared a throwback photo on his official Instagram account today and recalled the day Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich asked him about doing The Big Four Shows in 2009.

As you may already remember, the big four of the heavy metal scene, Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, and Anthrax joined forces back in 2010 and performed together for the first time ever at the Sonisphere Festival in Warsaw, Poland.

A short time after the concert, ‘The Big Four: Live From Sofia’ was released as DVD and shown in more than 450 movie theaters in the United States and the whole European countries. The Big Four made more than ten shows across Europe, and they made their final concert at Yankee Stadium, New York City.

Today, Anthrax star has shared a little-known photo of Jimmy Page and Charlie Benante and stated that Metallica’s Rock & Roll Hall of Fame party was the place that Lars asked about making Big Four shows for the first time.

Here is what Scott wrote in the caption:

“12 years ago right now. We were at Metallica’s Rock & Roll Hall of Fame party in Cleveland hanging with Jimmy. And if that wasn’t amazing enough, it was also the night Lars asked us about doing Big 4 shows.”
