Grammy Awards announced a new decision that the winner song of the “Rock Song of the Year” category will not be televised. After that, Avenged Sevenfold frontman M. Shadows revealed the band’s decision to not attend this year’s Grammy Awards ceremony.

He spoke in an interview with Eddie Truck and said:

“Yes [it’s true that we will not be attending]. Not really a protest per se, but fuck ’em. Hotels, planes, flights for the wives, tickets for the event – the whole thing for them to go would cost $150,000.

And then they go and pull the ‘Rock Song of the Year’ award from TV and put us in some side venue no one gives a fuck about? Fuck that waste of time and money. No respect.

I mean, how marginalized has rock become when ‘Rock Song of the Year’ can’t get two minutes?
