Behemoth frontman Adam Nergal Darski joined an exclusive interview with Ultimate Guitar in which he claimed that the former Iron Maiden singer Blaze Bayley is underrated as a singer.

Apart from working with Behemoth, Adam Nergal Darski also started a solo project named Me And That Man along with John Porter. Darski then released the project’s debut album titled ‘Songs Of Love And Death’ on March 24, 2017.

On March 27, 2020, the project released their second studio album ‘New Man, New Songs, Same Shit, Vol. 1.’ A year later, they released the follow-up album ‘New Man, New Songs, Same Shit: Vol. 2’ on November 19, 2021.

In the ‘New Man, New Songs, Same Shit: Vol. 2’ album, Darski worked with various artists including Iron Maiden’s former singer Blaze Bayley. Along with Bayley, he collaborated with Exodus guitarist Gary Holt and Venom’s Jeff ‘Mantas’ Dunn on the song ‘All Hope Has Gone.’

In an interview by Ultimate Guitar, the host David Slavković asked Darski what was it like working with the trio. As a response, he said that it felt great working with the three iconic metal music figures. Following that, he shared his thoughts about Blaze Bayley.

The Behemoth frontman said that Blaze Bayley was singing about his wife’s passing and his life story in the song. Saying the singer cannot fake these feelings, Darski claimed Bayley is a very underrated singer as he puts so much emotion in his singing.

Adam Nergal Darski told Ultimate Guitar that:

“Blaze Bayley singing the story of his life – if you’re not aware, he’s really singing about his wife passing, so it only makes this song – and the title, it says it all, man.

There’s no faking that. You’ve got like real, emotional blues, with an, I think, very underrated singer. Because if you ask me, I do dig both Bailey Maiden records, I do like them, and I do listen to them. So I’m not just saying that now. So, of course, Paul Di’Anno – yes; Blaze Bayley – yes; and, of course, Bruce Dickinson is the Iron Maiden voice.

But I really do respect and appreciate those two records. And he does just an amazing job because you can really feel that he’s just putting so much emotion into his singing. And then, I’m very thankful for both.”
