Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong shared the video of a young fan’s performance via Instagram stories in honor of the 19th anniversary of the tragic 9/11 attacks.
19 years ago, on September 11, 2001, America experienced the deadliest terrorist attack in human history. Earlier on that day, two planes were flown into the famous twin towers of the World Trade Center in New York City. The terrorist attacks resulted in 2,977 fatalities and over 25,000 injuries.
A Green Day fan named Harley Mitchell posted the video of her performance in honor of the 19th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. As you will see in the video below, Mitchell presents an amazing drum performance which she dedicated to the victims of 9/11 and also to Green Day vocalist Billie Joe Armstrong.
Here’s what the Green Day fan wrote on the caption of her video:
“I dedicate this cover to Billie Joe, the victims who died on September 11th, 2001, and anyone else who lost someone in their life that can relate to this song. ❤️“
Furthermore, Billie Joe Armstrong, known as not using social media platforms actively, didn’t remain silent on the lovely gesture of his fan. Armstrong shared the video of Harley Mitchell’s drum performance via Instagram stories to show his appreciation and support for the fan’s thoughtful act.
