Black Sabbath legend Tony Iommi has shared a new post on his official Facebook account and revealed that he will do a charity named ‘Evening With Tony Iommi’ to raise money against coronavirus.
COVID-19, known as coronavirus, is one of the most dangerous diseases in recent history. It spread over 1.2M people in four months and effected over 25 countries. Currently, there are around 900K active cases confirmed by the authorities.
In the announcement, Tony stated that he will be putting his stuff together for the auction and raised this money for Birmingham’s Heartlands Hospital charity. With this behavior, Tony earned the respect of people from all around the world.
Tony’s post reached around 8K likes less than a day, and most of the fans shared their thoughts in the comment section.
Here is what Tony Iommi wrote:
“We were about to announce a charity ‘evening with Tony Iommi’ to raise some money for the Birmingham hospitals when this awful virus struck.
Now as all charitable events have been canceled, I wanted to still do something to help. So, I’ve put a few things together of my own up for auction. All the money raised will go to Birmingham’s Heartlands hospital charity.”
He added:
“Please! I hope that you can help, they really do need our support! Without these doctors and nurses, what would we do… We owe them so much!”
