Queen lead guitarist Brian May celebrated his former bandmate Paul Rodgers’ 71st birthday by sharing a picture from the days when Rodgers was performing with Queen on Instagram and referring to him as a ‘hero.’
As many of you may know, widely known for being Free and Bad Company vocalist, Paul Rodgers once toured and recorded with the legendary band Queen between 2004 and 2009, and they were referred to as Queen + Paul Rodgers.
In May 2009, Rodgers announced that the ‘Queen + Paul Rodgers’ collaboration had come to an end since it was not a permanent arrangement. This collaboration, however, then followed by another collaboration with Adam Lambert, named Queen + Adam Lambert.
Since Brian May and Paul Rodgers have worked together before Rodgers’ collaboration with Queen, the duo has a long and close friendship. May shared a picture of Rodgers in addition to playing a Free song named ‘All Right Now’ in the back on his official Instagram page and celebrated Rodgers’ 71st birthday.
In his friendly message, May also called Rodgers a ‘hero’ as he wished him a happy birthday in addition to thanking a fan for creating the edit he shared on his Instagram account.
Here is how Brian May celebrated Paul Rodgers’ birthday:
“Happy birthday, Hero! Love ya – Bri. And thanks Tracy for this edit.”
