The co-founder and lead guitarist of Queen, Brian May has celebrated the birthday of his former bandmate and one of the most iconic musicians of the 20th century, Freddie Mercury, with the most sincere wishes as he introduced the new book of Queen.
The legendary guitarist May has taken Instagram to commemorate a very special day. He posted a video in which he talks about his dear friend Freddie while showing his rare pictures from the upcoming ‘Queen: The Neal Preston Photographs‘ book.
During his tear-inducing and thoughtful speech, Brian May says that Freddie Mercury has been such a great guy and an inspiring person. He also stated that they were so lucky to have amazing experiences together by doing what they were passionate about. May ended up his words by wishing Mercury a wonderful birthday and sending him love.
The brand new book, which Brian May showed in the video, ‘Queen: The Neal Preston Photographs,’ is to be released in October 2020 through Reel Art Press. Featuring classic and previously unpublished photographs, the book is made of Neal Preston’s unique shots.
Preston, for many years, was Queen’s official photographer on tour. The book covers the period between 1977-1986, on stage, off stage, on the road, and everything in between. It also offers a text by Brian May and Roger Taylor and intimate accounts from Neal Preston revealing the stories behind the pictures.
