Protesters Trying To Make Green Day’s ‘American Idiot’ No. 1 In The UK Ahead Of Trump Visit. Green Day’s “American Idiot” is moving swiftly up the UK song charts.

2004 hit was written in-part about George W. Bush and has now been adopted to protest Trump’s visit.

A Facebook campaign to get Green Day’s 2004 hit to the top of the UK chart has so far been backed by over 20,000 likes and – and it seems to be working.

The Official Charts Company reports that the song is currently at Number 18 in the midweek charts, and is just 4,000 sales away from cracking the top 10. However, ‘Three Lions’ by The Lightning Seeds with Baddiel and Skinner is currently on course to land the Number 1 spot, as England face Croatia this weekend in the World Cup semi final.
