The iconic rockstar Bruce Springsteen recently appeared in court in front of a judge after being arrested in November 2020 for driving while intoxicated, and while two of the major charges were dismissed, Springsteen pleaded guilty to the third one.
Bruce Springsteen is one of the most famous rockstars of all time and his career spans over five decades. Just like many of his peers and fellow rockstars, Springsteen had, as he called it, a ‘self–loathing‘ problem too and in a previous interview, he had confirmed that he has been in therapy for almost thirty years.
However, it seems like he sometimes can’t stop the rule-breaking rockstar within himself as in November 2020, Springsteen was arrested by the police for drunken driving in New Jersey. There were three criminal charges pressed against the famous rockstar, namely; operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, reckless driving, and consuming an alcoholic beverage in a closed area.
On November 14, Springsteen was riding his motorcycle at New Jersey’s Gateway National Recreation Area in Sandy Hook, when he was recognized by two fans who offered him some shots. He accepted their invitation and joined them for two tequila shots, which would lead to his arrest some minutes later.
At the end of February, Springsteen appeared in court with his lawyer, and by the end, the first two charges were dropped due to not having any prior criminal charges, only three driving violations since 1973, and because his blood alcohol content when he was arrested was .02 which is under the legal limit. Springsteen pleaded guilty to the third charge, consuming an alcoholic beverage in a closed area, and was fined $540.
