Fozzy singer Chris Jericho recently gave an interview to Loudwire, during which he discussed Vince Neil’s recent live performance and shared his thoughts on what the frontman needs to do to get back on his feet.

As you might recall, Vince Neil has been in the spotlight after Mötley Crüe announced their reunion for the Stadium Tour, because most of the community thought that he is out of shape compared to the other members. In addition to that, his performance at the 2015 Rock and Rock Rio was not very encouraging.

Mötley Crüe was supposed to embark on the Stadium Tour in 2020 and Vince Neil was training really hard. However, the frontman lost his motivation following the outbreak of Covid-19 and apparently stopped working out which was quite clear during his solo concert which took place back in late May.

Unfortunately, Vince couldn’t perform as expected. During the show, he sung out of tune several times, forgot the lyrics to the Beatles’ ‘Helter Skelter,’ and eventually had to give up. He lost all hope when he couldn’t catch his breath and sing the lyrics of ‘Girls, Girls, Girls’ and he got out of stage while apologizing to his fans.

In the conversation, Chris Jericho mentioned that it is really disappointing to see Vince like that because everyone was pulling for the singer as well as Mötley Crüe. He also said that it is going to be tough for him to play alongside Joan Jett in Stadium Tour because ‘she’s freaking awesome.’

While Chris was saying that people are going to like the show no matter how Neil performs because they have missed the band, he also added that Vince could easily get back to his old form if he wanted to do it, but said that he doesn’t know if Vince is really willing to.

Chris Jericho commented on Vince Neil’s performance using the following words:

“It’s disappointing because I think everyone is pulling for Vince and they’re pulling for Mötley Crüe. And it’s gonna be tough doing [The Stadium Tour] because Joan Jett, I don’t know if you’ve seen her recently, she’s freaking awesome.

And Bret Michaels — I was just talking about Poison the other day; they’re gonna steal the show. You’d better watch out for Poison, ’cause Bret Michaels is the best frontman out of all of those bands. And then Def Leppard’s Def Leppard; they do what they do. And Mötley Crüe, they’re gonna have to really step it up.”

He continued:

I’m disappointed to see Vince the way he is, because I think if he lost some weight and did some training and came out there and was in some semblance of shape, a) his voice will sound better just from that alone, and b) people would go, ‘Holy shit! Did you see Vince Neil? He looks great.’

I think if he really wants to do it, he could do it, but I don’t know if he does and that’s the thing. It’s up to him. And either way, it’s Mötley Crüepeople are gonna go, and they’re gonna love it.”
