The popular Scottish musician and successful bassist of Coldplay, Guy Berryman, recently posted a photo on his Instagram with which he made an announcement related to music after a long time.
As you may recall, Coldplay released their eighth studio album named ‘Everyday Life‘ in November 2019, which ranked Number 1 on the UK album charts in just a few weeks. Approximately a week ago, Coldplay also received two Grammy nominations for their latest album as the ‘Album of the Year’ and ‘Best Recording Package.’
Even though things are going really well for the band, it seems like Guy Berryman has some different projects in mind considering music. You probably know that aside from a musician, Berryman is also an entrepreneur who has his own clothing line.
Applied Art Forms is a label created by Guy Berryman who is also its Creative Director. This brand is another one of Berryman’s passions alongside music, but it seems like he recently decided to combine his two passions.
With his latest Instagram post, Berryman announced that a new playlist created by Made Kuti has been released as the second Applied Art Forms playlist. The brand’s official website is not just an online shop but rather a platform through which Guy Berryman shares his vision about his clothing line and entertains his fans and followers.
‘Music is the Weapon‘ is a playlist created by Made Kuti as a continuation of the legacy of his grandfather, an Afrobeat pioneer, his uncle, and his father. It is available on Apple Music and Spotify and it can be accessed through Applied Art Forms’ webpage. Berryman thanked Kuti for his effort and invited his fans and followers to give the new playlist a try.
Here’s what Guy Berryman said:
“Our second Applied Art Forms playlist is here. ‘Music is the Weapon’: Created by the latest member of the Kuti family to launch his musical career, Made Kuti explores the legacy of his grandfather, and Afrobeat pioneer, Fela Kuti, his father Femi, and his Uncle Seun’s music across a fifty-year timescale.
Also included is the first release of Made’s own musical journey… Access the Spotify & Apple Music playlist through the Applied Art Forms homepage (link in bio). Thank you Made Kuti for this brilliantly curated Kuti playlist.”
