Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor has confirmed that recording sessions of new album will start in January 2019. He also hints at potential release date…

On Twitter, a fan claimed that new Slipknot album will be released in 2020; and then Corey responded and said:

“No no – 2019. That’s what I said. Recording in Jan. Album out middle of 2019.

Back in October 2018, Corey talked about new album and said:

“2019 will be “a big year for Slipknot”. The band’s plans for the coming months include the launch of “a big world tour. But it all depends on when we get in the studio. Right now, the plan is for us to be in the studio early next year — like, first couple of months next year.

So, a couple of months to get that going, a couple of months to get production, new masks, new outfits, new everything. And hopefully be able to come and start touring in the summer when the album comes out.

Two days ago, percussionist Shawn “Clown” Crahan talked with Billboard and revealed the concept of new album. He said:

“That’s something we never had the luxury of, but it’s because we started three years ago. What I can tell you is I’ve known all the words all the time, so I’ve been able to paint the dream world and the nightmare in my mind.

The record breaks down to good v evil, or in this sense, evil v good. It’s about being a human being and experiencing what you have in correlating it to this world.

This world is ugly and it’s supposed to be, and it has to be in order for art to lead to grandness and beauty.”
