Corey Taylor, the lead vocalist of Slipknot and Stone Sour, has disclosed the fact that he has huge respect for the musicians from the Midwest while declaring his admiration to the late icon, Prince, and the most famous rapper in the world, Eminem.

During his latest conversation with Bert Kreischer on ‘Bertcast,’ quite a successful frontman, Corey Taylor, has opened up about his hometown, Waterloo, Iowa, where people used to call ‘Little Detroit.’

Taylor talked about growing up super-poor and, eventually, making his way out there into global fame. While reminiscing about the tough old days, Corey took a moment to pay respect to the musicians from the Midwest who suffered the same fate as himself.

Taylor said he was really into Prince because he was from Minneapolis, a place where he can’t comprehend its dangers. Slipknot star also admitted that he’s a massive Eminem fan, who is famous for his difficult life in the past.

Here’s what Corey Taylor said when asked if he has a kinship with Eminem due to their common points while growing up:

“Yeah, I’m a massive, massive Em fan, man. And I loved anybody from the Midwest because I still considered Michigan the Midwest. I love anybody from the Midwest who made it.

So not only was I into Eminem, but I was also into Prince because Prince was Minneapolis. To me, that was like The Grail. I was like, ‘Oh, fuck!'”
