On Twitter, Slipknot and Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor’s wife Alicia Taylor posted a tweet about the new name of NFL team The Washington Football Team showing her support for the rebranding of the team.
As you might be familiar with the issue, The Washington Redskins NFL team came to the conclusion that they should be dropping their 80-year-old name mostly due to the pressures of their sponsors, such as FedEx, Nike, and Pepsi.
The decades-long campaign of Native Americans who described the name, Washington Redskins, as a dictionary-defined racial slur, finally ended up renaming the football team. The team announced that they were going to use their new name, The Washington Football Team, at least for the rest of the 2020 season until the organization found a proper name
Recently on Twitter, Slipknot and Stone Sour frontman, Corey Taylor’s wife Alicia Taylor posted a tweet about the NFL team showing her support for their newly acquired name. Apparently, Alicia wanted them to keep the name The Washington Football Team even after the 2020 season.
Here’s what Alicia Taylor stated in her recent tweet:
“I hope The Washington Football Team stays The Washington Football Team forever.“
