Queen’s iconic frontman Freddie Mercury was the main inspiration source of Foo Fighters singer and guitarist, Dave Grohl.
Freddie Mercury Club, who is the best Freddie Mercury fan page on Instagram, has celebrated 51st birthday of Dave Grohl, and the page also revealed a little statement section from a rare interview of Grohl.
In the statement, Dave Grohl has revealed what we have to learn from Freddie Mercury about singing and being a rock star. He also said that Freddie was more than human.
Here’s what Grohl said:
“Every band should study Queen at Live Aid. If you really feel like that barrier is gone, you become Freddie Mercury. I consider him the greatest frontman of all time.
Like, it’s funny? you’d imagine that Freddie was more than human, but…you know how he controlled Wembley Stadium at Live Aid in 1985? He stood up there and did his vocal warm-ups with the audience. Something that intimate, where they realize, ‘Oh yeah, he’s just a f***ing dude.”
The fan page of Freddie Mercury added:
“I’ve always had immense respect for Dave Grohl for his integrity to music and the fact that he didn’t cling to the Nirvana name and started a whole new band and proved himself as a respectable yet able musician. I’m not gonna add anything else to what he says cause the words to speak for themselves…👊”
