Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine spoke in an interview with Kaaos TV and revealed an unexpected statement about Megadeth songs and lyrics. He said that lyrics have never really been the highlight of the Megadeth songs.

Here’s the statement:

“It’s like: Think of a brand new color. Can you? How about this: Explain an orgasm to a virgin. Tell me this one: What does the color blue look like to someone who’s blind? You can’t do it, can you?

But you can. Because when they teach people who are blind they will tell them – the color blue, they put their hand in the water. And they say the color white and they give them a piece of cotton. And when they say, ‘This is the color black,’ they let them hold a stone.

So there are ways around this thing where you can take the listener and have them go on a wonderful journey with you and experience things.

But you have to care enough to help get the listener from point A to point B. Not everybody knows how you got from point A to point B.

So sometimes, you have to tell the story twice. Sometimes you have to tell the story a little bit simpler too when you’re telling people.

So we don’t mind about that when we’re writing songs lyrically because the lyrics have never really been the highlight of the songs. It’s always been the music.
