Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine recently posted a photo on his Instagram account and announced that the legendary band will be featured in DC Comics while expressing his excitement for being a part of it.
As you know, Megadeth was formed by bassist David Ellefson guitarist Dave Mustaine in 1983. The band reached mainstream fame and success and ultimately came to be known as one of the four bands that contributed to the development and revolution of thrash metal as a genre.
With his recent Instagram post, Dave Mustaine announced that Megadeth will be featured in ‘DC Comics DARK NIGHTS: DEATH METAL – BAND EDITION.’ The new seven-issue series is a continuation of ‘Dark Nights: Death Metal’ which was created by Greg Capullo and Scott Snyder and was released in the summer of 2020.
The seventh and final issue was released in January 2021, and DC Comics decided to extend the existence of the metal scene in the DC Comics world. The publisher recently announced that they will be collaborating with seven of the world’s most famous metal bands for the new ‘Band Edition.’
The first issue will feature Megadeth and will be released in March 2021, in 13 countries internationally. The cover art, which was posted by Dave Mustaine, was created by Juanjo Guarnido. Each issue will include an introduction from the band and numerous exclusive interviews.
