Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine gave a very controversial speech on the strict rules about wearing masks and vaccination by calling it a ‘tyranny’ during last night’s show in Camden.
As you probably know, even though most celebrities have advised their fans to follow the safety protocols against the pandemic by wearing masks and getting vaccinated, some have claimed that people should have the freedom to choose how they want to handle the situation.
For instance, Ted Nugent defined COVID-19 as a hoax and stated he wouldn’t wear a mask or get vaccinated because he believes they don’t work. Also, Eric Clapton was targeted because he decided that he won’t be performing in the places where vaccination is mandatory, even though he has gotten vaccinated.
With his recent speech at his latest concert, Dave Mustaine also joined them, saying that the mask and vaccination requirements are signs of tyranny, and they prevent people from choosing what they want to do. Moreover, he invited heavy metal fans to put an end to this, as they have the power to do so.
Mustaine’s speech was:
“Look around you, guys. Look to your right, look to your left and look how wonderful this is. We’re all here together. We’re not in f’cking bags. We’re not freaking out, and we’re not yelling at people, ‘Where’s your f’cking mask?’
The thing right now that’s going on is tyranny. This is called tyranny. Look it up when you get home. Tyranny isn’t only in government. Tyranny right now is in the schools, and tyranny is in the medical business. We have the power, especially us … heavy metal fans, we have the power to change things.“
