During the recent interview with “Trunk Nation LA Invasion: Live From The Rainbow Bar & Grill”, Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine has shared his thoughts about possibility of one more The Big Four show.
He said that ‘before Slayer retire, there should be another Big Four show in the Bay Area’. Here’s the statement:
“I think everybody in the metal community wants to see that, with Slayer going away. Although, fortunately, with the attention that they’re getting, they’re not [going away yet] — there’s so much attention for them that they continue to play, which is great for us.
But I think that before they retire, there should be another ‘Big Four’ show. And since the scene primarily started in the [San Francisco] Bay Area, I think it should be done in the Bay Area or here [in Los Angeles]. To me, it’s just not right. I think there should be at least one more.”
Back in April 2018, Dave Mustaine said that Metallica is the main reason of why a new Big Four show could not be held. He said:
“I think if you asked the three of us that, our camps would probably say yes. If Anthrax, Slayer and Megadeth all want to do it, and Metallica doesn’t, then what do we do? The Big Three?
I’m sure that a lot of people would like to see that, and that may be what it is. You know, you may end up having it be the Big Three plus No. 5 if we have Exodus play with it.”
In an another interview, Dave talked on one more Big Four show and said:
“That’s not up to me. Everybody on the planet knows that’s up to Lars Ulrich because Lars runs Metallica and they are the ones that are in control of this, which doesn’t seem fair since the moniker suggests that we’re equal. If they say ‘no,’ then there’s no Big Four show.”
