Everybody knows the relationship between Kirk Hammett and Dave Mustaine. After Dave’s leave from Metallica, Kirk was the replacement. But at the moment the duo looks very friendly.
Dave Mustaine has recently been very active in social media. He answers the questions directed to him. Even if the questions are about Metallica and Kirk.
Finally he responded to the question “Kirk got zero writing credits on Hardwired LP” which is asked by a fan. Mustaine said:
“That sometimes happens. Kirk Hammett is very talented and I’m sure that there is a reason if he didn’t.”
This answer was welcomed by both Metallica and Megadeth fans.
Kirk Hammett made this clear in an interview with Metal Hammer. He explained why he was not active in song writing. He said:
“For me, being in this band, I always want to contribute. I always have a lot of musical concepts and ideas to bring to the table. Obviously, that was not meant to be this time, and I had to accept that fact.
So I focused on my solos, just making sure that my playing on the album was at its best – at its full potential. Hopefully I can bring my ideas to the next Metallica album. I just hope it’s not another eight years.”
