On Twitter, the co-founding member of Byrds & Crosby and Stills & Nash, David Crosby, posted a tweet about the recent problems in U.S. politics by mentioning the ‘Citizens United‘ decision and criticized the actions of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell.
As you might know, the 79-year-old rock musician David Crosby has been using his Twitter account often to share his opinions on politics. Since the very beginning of his career, David has been politically active.
Furthermore, David Crosby has been openly criticizing the actions and statements of the current president Donald Trump, whom he previously declared as a ‘dangerous guy who has got a big ego.’ On the other hand, David often shows his support for the previous president Barack Obama.
Recently on Twitter, David Crosby posted a tweet commenting on the current status of democracy in the United States. According to David, democracy could work if one could prevent the so-called bribery problem within the justice system. He also criticized the ‘Citizens United‘ decision and the actions of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell.
Here’s what David Crosby stated in his recent tweet:
“Democracy does work… We will have to figure out how to keep the corporate money from being able to buy it… Which is the main reason it is currently derailed…
Then there are the pres… But McConnell is really poisoning it… Wwe have to take the senate… etc.“
As you may recall, in the ‘Citizens United vs. Federal Election Commission‘ case in 2010, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that political spending was a form of free speech that was under the projection of the First Amendment.
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has been the target of criticism following his obstruction of an election security bill. He was accused of being ‘unpatriotic‘ by doing the bidding of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
