The vocalist and founding member of the Byrds and Crosby, Stills & Nash, David Crosby responded to a fan on Twitter who took him as an example to get sober and revealed he wasn’t sober anymore since he was doing weed.
After a long and successful music career, David Crosby still tires to stay in contact with his fans on social media platforms. David often shares his opinions on social and political matters and answers the questions of his fans about his music and his troubling personal life, including many incidents related to his drug and alcohol addiction.
As you might remember, David Crosby had several issues related to his substance abuse back in the 1980s. He even spent nine months in a Texas state prison after being convicted of several drugs and weapons offenses in 1985.
Following many other criminal charges mostly related to his alcohol and drug abuse, David had to quit his long going habits. As he announced previously, Crosby is sober for 14 years now.
However, recently on Twitter, David Crosby revealed he actually broke his sobriety after 14 years. A fan nicknamed Cookie tagged Crosby on her tweet mentioning that she took him as an example during her process of getting sober. The fan also stated she looked up to him and his music, particularly during this challenging phase of her life.
As a response, David thanked his fan and added he wasn’t sober anymore. Apparently, the iconic musician was only smoking weed and he was feeling okay about it.
Here’s how David Crosby revealed he wasn’t sober anymore:
“Thank you. I was sober for 14 years but I am not now I only do weed but I do it quite happily.”
