The iconic founding member of Byrds and Crosby, Stills & Nash, David Crosby, shared a tweet on his Twitter account, in which he reacted to a follower’s claim that Roger Waters was the creative mind behind Pink Floyd.
As it is known, the relationship between Pink Floyd’s co-founder Roger Waters and the lead guitarist/singer David Gilmour is already complicated. It is often discussed who the creative mind behind the legendary band Pink Floyd is, and it seems that David Crosby has also entered that discussion.
It all started when a follower asked Crosby if he liked Pink Floyd, to which Crosby responded by saying yes and adding that he is a very big fan of Gilmour. Following that, another follower replied to Crosby by claiming that ‘Waters was the creative mind behind Floyd, all geniuses in their own field but Roger more so.’
David Crosby’s response to that was simple but yet firm. He simply said ‘I disagree.’ Crosby’s tweet received almost 100 responses with some supporting Crosby’s view, others praising Waters, and some questioning why the other members of Pink Floyd are not included in this discussion.
Even though views on who was the mastermind behind Pink Floyd can vary, the opinions of big rockstars such as David Crosby are definitely of great importance.
Here is what Crosby’s follower Paulcardno responded to Crosby:
“Roger Waters was the creative mind behind Floyd, all geniuses in their own field but Roger more so.”
