Pink Floyd’s singer David Gilmour and his family recently did a Facebook live stream, which was announced a couple of days ago, and during that live event, Gilmour treated his fans with a holiday season performance.

Even though David Gilmour isn’t quite active on social media, he sometimes enjoys using his Instagram account to announce his latest projects, share videos of himself -and sometimes his daughter- playing the guitar and singing, and reminisce the good times he’s had with Pink Floyd.

Even though Gilmour fans often follow Polly Samson to find out more about his daily life, a couple of days ago both David and Polly posted the same Christmas themed family photo and announced their family’s Christmas plans. They revealed that they will be going on live as the Von Trapped family on December 23.

Some hours before the starting time of the Von Trapped family live stream, Polly posted a tweet on her Twitter account and reminded their fans of the Von Trapped family’s upcoming Facebook live. When the time came, thousands of people joined the live stream and enjoyed spending a Christmas themed night with Gilmour’s family.

During that live stream, David Gilmour treated his fans with a Christmas themed performance, as he played ‘Holy Night‘ on his electric guitar while his family proudly watched him and danced to his music. Then David Gilmour also performed with his daughter Romany their newly released song ‘Yes, I Have Ghosts.’

Then, the whole family performed ‘Silent Night‘ which both they and their listeners highly enjoyed. Finally, David Gilmour concluded this festive live stream with a beautiful solo that was apparently enjoyed by his grandchild who kept applauding his grandpa. Luckily, the Von Trapped family uploaded the live stream on Polly Samson’s profile so that their fans who missed it can still watch it.

“See you in ten minutes (6.30 pm GMT) for our Von Trapped Family Christmas live stream on my Facebook profile.”
