Van Halen frontman David Lee Roth was the recent interview guest of 101 WRIF’s Meltdown, and he honestly admitted that Van Halen is finished.
s you will read his comments below, he doesn’t want to give specific details about the issue, and it’s Eddie Van Halen‘s right to tell the story.
You can read his statement below:
“That’s been canceled a number of times, and I think Van Halen’s finished and this is the next phase. I’ve inherited the band de facto — whatever that means. I think it means if you inherit it, carry this proudly.
Van Halen isn’t gonna be coming back in the fashion that you know. And that being said, Eddie Van Halen’s got his own story to tell. It’s not mine to tell it.”
Here is the plot of the episode:
“Dave is doing a residency at the House of Blues in Vegas coming up in January. We discuss that, as well as what happened with the VH tour that was supposed to take place this past summer. Wait till you hear his answer.
What about the solo album that he did with John 5? He tells me if that will ever see the light of day, we discuss his “cameo” in The Dirt, plus, the question “Why Him”? We talk about his classic solo line-up in the mid-’80s and I ask him Eat Em’ And Smile or Skyscraper?”
