Van Halen’s iconic frontman David Lee Roth shared a tribute to his dear friend and bandmate Eddie Van Halen by posting another rare photo on Twitter and moved fans to tears.
In 1972, Eddie and Alex Van Halen formed their band, Genesis, along with the bass player Mark Stone. Later that year, David Lee Roth joined them as the lead vocalist. They eventually changed their name to Van Halen. Since his very first years of their relationship, Eddie and David had been on a long and bumpy road considering all the departures and reunions within the band.
Unfortunately, a few days ago, Eddie’s son and the current bassist of Van Halen, Wolfgang shared the devastating news of his father’s death with a statement on Twitter. Wolf stated that Eddie has sadly lost his battle against throat cancer and passed away at the age of 65. Many musicians and celebrities took their social media accounts to pay tribute to the guitar legend.
Van Halen frontman David Lee Roth posted another rarely seen photo with his friend and bandmate Eddie Van Halen and moved fans to tears. On the caption of his post, David recalled all the achievements they conducted together by stating it was a ‘long and great’ trip.

As you may recall, earlier this year, David Lee Roth caused a stir with his comments about the future of Eddie’s music career. According to the news of Loudwire, David had some doubts about Eddie’s future and claimed that there was a high possibility for him to not being able to tour ever again. He also added that Van Halen guitarist had his own story to tell. David’s previous comment about Eddie is now observed as an indication of his worsening health status.
