Van Halen frontman David Lee Roth has revived the feud between himself and the former lead singer of the band, Sammy Hagar while targetting the Red Rocker in a new piece from his famous artwork series, ‘Soggy Bottom.’

As you may know, there have been ongoing rumors about rivalry surrounding the two legendary vocalists of Van Halen, David Lee Roth and Sammy Hagar, since they co-headlined a national tour called, ‘Heavyweight Champs of Rock and Roll Tour,’ or widely known as, ‘Sam & Dave Tour.’

The rock and roll duo headed for the exciting event on May 29, 2002, near Cleveland, however, it ended up not so well. During an interview with Classic Rock, Hagar unveiled that there was one crazy moment in Raleigh, Carolina where Lee Roth totally flipped out.

As they were walking to the stage, Hagar’s drummer asked David and his band, ‘How’s it going, ladies…’, and just before adding ‘and gentlemen,’ Lee Roth hit the ceiling, pushing people around.

The Circle frontman, Sammy Hagar, cleared the air about Lee Roth years after that incident, during his chat with Howard Stern on The Howard Stern Show in 2019. Hagar admitted that he actually likes David, but David doesn’t like him somehow.

Most recently, David Lee Roth has confirmed Hagar’s words through his work of art. Roth came up with a drawing on Twitter, calling out to Sammy and depicting him as the Red Rocker on his plane.

He tried to mock Hagar by saying ‘Sam the man not only will be giving his life for rock and roll but plans to be buried in his recently acquired jet!’ through his illustration.

Here’s what David Lee Roth said in his latest illustration:

“Concrete flowers for Sam. Sam the man not only will be giving his life for rock and roll, but plans to be buried in his recently acquired jet!

Red Rocker refuses to fly 55 in afterlife. Up, up, and away… Soggy Kudos to the Bottom’s favorite front guy for planning ahead!”

Here’s what Sammy Hagar said about David Lee Roth during The Howard Stern Show in 2019:

“I gotta get something straight about Dave. I actually like the guy, he doesn’t like me. But he’s entertaining. To me, he entertains me.

When I see him I go, ‘Look at this guy, now look at him, look what he’s doing!’ It’s entertainment, you know.”

A David Lee Roth follower commented on the post:

“He could never be compared to DLR. The greatest frontman of all time.”

Another Twitter user wrote this:

“Hey, Sammy Hagar, any comments? Looks like David has thrown down the gauntlet.”

Another Van Halen fan wrote this:

“Love it. Lot of work here. Always thought Dave had the patience of a 5-year-old. Maybe I’m wrong!?! Lots of detail. Bet Sam will love and appreciate it, too.”
