Twisted Sister’s frontman Dee Snider recently posted a series of tweets on his Twitter account and told off a follower who told him that getting involved in politics and speaking against the president is un-American.
As you know, Dee Snider likes using his social media accounts, and in specific his Twitter account, to announce his latest projects, talk about Twisted Sister, interact with his fans, and of course, express his views on political and social matters. He had recently made it to our headlines after posting some tweets in which he expressed his frustration considering the storming of the United States Capitol.
In the previous week, something unbelievable happened in the United States, and January 6, 2021, became a day that will always be rememebered in United States history. On Wednesday, Trump supporters stormed the United States Capitol in an attempt to prevent Congress from accepting the elected president Joe Biden’s win in the Electoral Colleges, in support of Donald Trump’s attempt to overturn his defeat.
Dee Snider had shared his views on this happening and he was criticized for supporting the Black Lives Matter movement while criticizing extremists for their actions. Even though he had already declared his stance towards this matter, and made it clear that he will keep expressing his political views, that was not the end of the negative comments that received.
Just some hours ago, Dee Snider shared a video of an extremist rioter who was suspended from his flight due to being on the No-Fly list pending the full investigation. The rioter was crying and saying that he did everything for his beloved country. Snider posted this video and said that ‘there’s no crying in terrorism.’ This tweet received numerous comments, some of which were advising Snider to stay away from politics.
One follower that really got on his nerves told him that they are disappointed in him as he ‘said nothing about the riots and looting & attack in June in DC’ but now full-on criticizes the extremists that stormed the Capitol. They went on to say that getting involved in politics and ‘speaking out against the president is unamerican & sad.’
This tweet frustrated Dee Snider, to say the least. He quoted this tweet and said that he will not be sticking to singing songs just because they said so. After saying ‘f*ck you’, he also said ‘YOU only know what Fox and Parler told you about what happened in DC’ and told them off for not being open-minded but instead sticking to listening and believing the state-controlled media.
Here’s what Dee Snider said about a rioter who was crying because he was on the no-fly list due to his participation in the events that took place on January 6:
“Is he crying? There‘s no crying in terrorism!”
To which one of his followers responded:
“I’m really disappointed in you Dee. You said nothing about the riots and looting & attack in June in DC. But now you speak against these extremists? You were my brother‘s hero before he died. Sticking yourself into politics & speaking out against the president is unamerican & sad.”
And Dee Snider replied:
“Oh. Should I just stick to singing songs? Ok, Wendy if you say so. Wait… FUCK YOU! YOU only know what Fox and Parler told you about what happened in DC. Buh-bye.”
