The lead singer of Twisted Singer, Dee Snider shared a post on his official Twitter page after Tom Morello, best known for his tenure with Rage Against the Machine, reacted to a video of people dancing and supporting Donald Trump with the song ‘Killing in the Name.’
A few days ago, a video of two people dancing and jumping in a crowd rooting for Donald Trump in these politically active times due to the 2020 presidential election of the United States. While supporting who you voted for is something everyone would expect, there was one thing unusual that made the video disturbingly viral.
The song they were dancing and celebrating Trump with was the Rage Against the Machine song ‘Killing in the Name’ which is basically a protest song written about a revolution against racism and authority abuse of power, all the things who do not support Trump accuse him with.
Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello shared his reaction on his official Twitter page by stating that while creating the ‘Killing in the Time,’ the band’s vision was quite different than how it was used in the video.
Here ie what Morello said:
“Not exactly what we had in mind.”
The frontman of Twisted Sister, Dee Snider also shared a post on his official Twitter page and shared the same opinion with Morello stating that the song of Twisted Sister named ‘We’re Not Gonna Take It’ which is basically an anthem for rebellion, is also used with the wrong purpose, out of its vision.
Here is what Morello said:
“I feel your pain. A lot of these assholes like to use We’re Not Gonna Take It as ‘their song’ too. What don’t they understand about what we were saying? The first line of the song is ‘We’ve got the right to CHOOSE!’ When your party is anti-choice it’s not the song to be singing.“
