The official Instagram page of Dep Leppard shared a post announcing that their drummer Rick Allen is, once again, nominated for ‘The Best Rock Drummer of 2020′ by Music Radar and the fans will vote to determine the winner for the category.
As you may already know, Rick Allen had a terrible accident with his then-girlfriend Miriam Barendsen at the age of 21 and that car crash caused his left arm to be severed. However, he did not give up and focused on his drumming skills. After that day, Rick nominated for the best drummer in the world award many times during his career.
This year Rick Allen is also nominated for the category of ‘The Best Rock Drummer of 2020’ once again by Music Radar along with other nominees like Pearl Jam‘s Matt Cameron, Green Day‘s Tres Cool, and Deep Purple‘s Ian Paice. The fans will vote for the category and determine the best out of 35 nominees until midnight on November 21.
The official Instagram page of Def Leppard shared a post to support their beloved drummer Rick Allen for his nomination and asked fans to vote for Allen to be named ‘The Best Rock Drummer of 2020’ until the poll closes.
Here is what Def Leppard said:
“Is Rick Allen the best rock drummer of 2020? In less than one week, Music Radar will be named ‘The Best Rock Drummer of 2020’ based off of your votes – so vote now through Nov 21 for Rick Allen!”
