Dire Straits‘ guitarist and singer Mark Knopfler posted a rare video of his performance of a song from his 1996 album ‘Golden Heart‘ on Instagram in honor of his 71st birthday and fans commented on the post praising the fascinating career of the iconic musician.

The legendary singer, guitarist, and songwriter Mark Knopfler co-founded the rock band Dire Straits with his younger brother David Knopfler in 1977. The band recorded six albums until their split in 1995. Their hits ‘Sultans of Swing‘ and ‘Romeo and Juliet‘ gained the appreciation of the fans, however, in 1985, the Dire Straits their so-called masterpieceBrothers in Arms.’ The album became an international blockbuster and the fourth best selling album in the history UK chart.

Following the breakup of his Dire Straits, Knopfler began his solo career and produced nine solo albums. The four-time Grammy Award-winning musician is also known as the King of Clean for his fascinating performances.

Recently, the rock music icon Mark Knopfler turned 71 years old and celebrated his special day with a rare footage he posted on his social media accounts. As you will see in the video below, Mark is performing his single ‘Rüdiger’ from his 1996 solo album ‘Golden Heart’ on a TV show in Germany.
