Mark Knopfler from Dire Straits, which is the famous British rock band, has shared a confession he made in 2016 during an interview, under one of his photos that were taken years ago.
On his official Instagram account, Mark Knopfler also expressed his feelings about himself as a songwriter, and shockingly reveal that he didn’t believe himself at all at that time.
Here’s what he wrote:
“I didn’t respect the talent I had…”
However, on the rest of the text he continued like that:
“…now I try to visit it more. I work at it. Particularly the craft of writing. You don’t write songs unless you sit down and get behind the plough, I think people forget that. And I try very hard to stick to that philosophy, to stay behind the plough.”
This confession that came after many years attracted a lot of attention from his fans.
One of his fans, named Marek wrote:
“Mark, you truly, undoubtedly are a unique, superb, unmatched songwriter and virtuoso, one of a kind craftsman guitarist.”
And another fan named Micheal added:
“Here he is one of the greatest guitarists working today, and he says he is always working at being a better writer. From one writer to another, Mark, you’re an inspiration to me.”
