Dire Straits’ lead guitarist Mark Knopfler recently shared a post on his official Instagram page to remind his fans there is only one day left to purchase tickets for the auction in which his iconic red Fender guitar will be sold in aid of live music.

As many of you are aware, despite the fact that most musicians try to keep their music alive by live-streaming concerts via the internet, nearly all artists had to delay their album releases and postpone live shows due to coronavirus and the precautions.

It is known by now that Mark Knopfler is one of the biggest supporters of live music and the music industry since he has been donating his guitars and also encouraging his fans to help raise a fund in order to help the damaged music industry after the coronavirus pandemic.

As you may remember, Knopfler shared a post on his official Instagram page announcing a donation to Stagehand Charity, which supports live music during the coronavirus pandemic. Knopfler donated his iconic blood-red Fender guitar in order to help both the stage and production crew nearly two weeks ago.

Recently, Mark Knopfler shared another post on his official Instagram page in order to remind his fans that his Fender guitar is still available to be purchased, however, they only have one day left to get the tickets for the auction. Mark also thanked his fans who helped raise £61,000 so far.

Here is what Knopfler stated in the caption of his post:

“Last chance to purchase a ticket in Mark’s #ILoveLive fundraising draw in aid of Stagehand Charity UK’s Covid-19 Crew Relief Fund. So far you’ve helped raise a huge £61,000.

Mark donated one of his iconic red Fender Stratocaster guitars, which was played on all of the US dates of Mark’s 2019 ‘Down The Road Wherever’ Tour and at the Verona concert of the European leg.

Tickets are £5 per entry and can be purchased until Thurs 17th Dec worldwide. The fund supports stage and production crew through the current Covid-19 crisis.”
