Mark Knopfler, singer, songwriter, guitarist, and record producer, shared a story on his official Instagram page. Knopfler wanted to draw attention to how COVID-19 affected live shows and the music industry itself drastically, also how this situation can be changed.

Mark Knopfler is best known for once being the lead guitarist, singer, and songwriter of the famous band Dire Straits. The band recorded six albums, including Brothers in Arms, one of the best-selling albums in history. After leaving the band, Knopfler pursued a successful solo career.

Knopfler is a performer and every performer, live show, and events were affected by COVID-19 due to the precautions that were taken in order to be safe. To help live events to survive this situation, Knopfler shared an Instagram story to call out people who can support live events.

Knopfler also linked a website named we make events and they also shared and spread this message, they even called this day a global action day.
