One of the most gorgeous guitarists of the 20th century and famous co-founder of Dire Straits, Mark Knopfler, has posted a recent Instagram Stories on his verified account and shared his sadness over postponing news from Vic’s artistic director, Matthew Warchus.

As you will check out the post of Mark right below, he shared the official statement of Matthew and announced that they had to close The Old Vic’s doors which are located south-east of Waterloo station because of the coronavirus outbreak.

Here is what Mark said about the issue while posting the official announcement:

“Local Hero postponed. Ticket holders will have received an email directly from The Old Vic Theater and will be notified when the run is rescheduled.”

And here is the official statement of Matthew Warchus:

“On behalf of all at The Old Vic, I’d like to convey our great sadness at being forced to postpone this summer’s production of the uplifting new musical Local Hero. This beautiful, heartwarming and politically resonant adaptation of the hit film was a huge success with critics and audiences following its world premiere with our partners The Royal Lyceum Theatre Edinburgh last year.

The brilliant creative team and wonderful cast were all about to dive into rehearsals in the next few weeks. We very much hope you will get to see this production before too long.”
