During the recent talk with Mariskal Rock, Dream Theater lead guitarist John Petrucci has unveiled his favorite three albums that you might be surprised.

In the conversation, Petrucci mentioned the iconic guitarists Al Di Meola, Steve Morse, and Stevie Ray Vaughan. He stated that these musicians made the best albums he’s ever listened to.

Here is John Petrucci’s first pick:

“I kind of go back to a lot of the records that influenced me when I was younger, when I was really a teenager practicing a lot.

You know, for example, when I heard Al Di Meola’s ‘Casino’ album for the first time. That really blew me away.”

Petrucci continued:

“Steve Morse’s ‘The Introduction’ [1984] – his first solo album, one of my favorites.

And Stevie Ray Vaughan’s ‘Couldn’t Stand the Weather’. It’s another one that I heard – actually, I heard it on the radio first; I heard ‘Voodoo Child’ – his version – and I was, like, ‘Oh my God!’ I was, like, sucked into the radio, like, ‘This is amazing.'”
