Former Dream Theater and current Sons of Apollo drummer, Mike Portnoy has shared a new photo of The Beatles members on his official Instagram account and paid his tribute for the legendary rock band in a respectful way.
As we all know, on 10 April 1970, Paul McCartney officially announced that the band disbanded at a press conference.
Mike Portnoy took fans to 50 years ago and shared a special frame of The Beatles, which was taken in the day they broke up.
In the caption of his photo, Portnoy said that they changed the music and world like never before or ever since by implying that they are unique.
Here’s what Mike Portnoy said:
“Funny timing having just posted that Beatles jam of ours from PN14, as it was exactly 50 years ago today on April 10th, 1970 that The Beatles officially broke up… They changed music (and the world) like no band before or since… Thank you, Paul McCartney, John Lennon, George Harrison & Ringo Starr.”
A follower named growing_hate commented and said:
“In my opinion Dream Theater with you in it was million times better than The Beatles.”
