Dream Theater guitarist John Petrucci had a recent conversation with PureGrainAudio and talked about the band’s fourteenth album, ‘Distance Over Time.’
Petrucci also revealed why people think they’re a concept record group and what’s his back-up plan when he ends up his musical career.
Here’s what he said:
“I never had a backup plan, no, I always had tunnel vision, so I’d be in trouble if it didn’t work out.
Since I was a kid, I was an artist. I would write poetry and stories, and I think it kind of fit in very naturally in music and what I do.
That’s why ‘The Astonishing’ project was so satisfying – it kind of encompassed all that stuff: art, music, video, movies, stories, lots of characters and novels. It was a very deeply creative project.”
