Guns N’ Roses bassist Duff McKagan recently posted a photo of himself holding a bass guitar on his Instagram account and talked about the time when he tried to break his guitar after a concert but admitted that it was actually really hard for him.
Duff McKagan is one of the rockstars who use their social media accounts the most and he often likes to tell stories from his rock career, share sneak peeks from his life, announce Guns N’ Roses’s latest projects, and express his views on important matters.
In his recent post, he shared a photo of himself proudly holding up a bass guitar and told the story behind it. As it turns out, McKagan used the ‘Pretty Tied Up‘ bass guitar from 1991 until 1993. The reason why he used the bass guitar for such a short time was that he actually tried to break it.
In the caption, McKagan said that he broke it on stage but admitted that ‘it was way harder than I thought.’ However, it seems like he regretted doing that as he decided to put the guitar back together and announced that he’ll be testing it out during the 2021 concerts of Guns N’ Roses.
Here’s what Duff McKagan said in the caption of his Instagram post:
“‘Pretty Tied Up’ bass circa ’91. Broke it on stage (man, it was way harder than I thought!) in ’93. It’s been put back together and we‘ll test it out here in 2021. McBob Mike Mayhue took this photo.”
