In a recent interview with Metal Hammer, Guns N’ Roses icon Duff McKagan talked about his thoughts on the popularity of rock biopics and revealed that he wanted Brad Pitt to play as him in a possible Guns N’ Roses film.
The legendary bassist of Guns N’ Roses, Duff McKagan joined an interview for Metal Hammer magazine and answered questions regarding the unknown facts about his personal life.
Duff also talked about what he had been really thinking of the recent popularity of the films portraying rock legends’ lives, and the possibility of a Guns N’ Roses biopic.
Here’s what Duff was thinking about the rock biopics:
“I don’t know. I kind of like to have my memories of those people unsullied. I am a huge Queen fan, so I saw ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ and if it had been a blank screen with two hours of Queen’s music I’d have loved it, but there were some obvious factual inaccuracies that I could have pointed out.
But I don’t want to be that guy. I’ve seen ‘The Dirt,’ too, and it kind of captured the darkness of the ’80s Sunset Strip scene… And I’ve got ‘Lords of Chaos’ on my watchlist. But, really, I spend my whole life in rock ‘n’ roll – I’d rather read a history book.”
Furthermore, Duff was asked to reveal the actor whom he wished to play his role in a possible Guns N’ Roses biopic:
“Brad Pitt. Who else? Come on! I’m joking. I don’t know, I don’t think about stuff like that… so let’s just keep it at Brad Pitt.”
Additionally, the interviewer wanted to know what was the worst part of being in a famous rock band according to Duff McKagan:
“Not getting to spend enough time with your family. Easily.”
